Nola Antony Bio
Nola Antony was raised in and began her dance training in Lethbridge, Alberta. During her early training she was fortunate enough to attend the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Summer School and The Banff Centre of Fine Arts, as well as many workshops and competitions. After high school, she moved to Toronto to pursue dance at Ryerson Polytechnic University, ultimately receiving a BFA in Dance Drama and Music from the University of Lethbridge. Nola has trained with many dance professionals including Nadia Potts (former National Ballet soloist), Stelio Calagias (former director of Les Ballet Jazz), Mia Michaels, Patsy Swayze, Gus Giordano, Joe Tremaine, Tyce Diorio to name a few. Nola received her registered teachers status with the Royal Academy of Dance in 2005 and has since been teaching in studios, conservatories, colleges and high schools in Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Fort McMurray. Nola’s students have enjoyed success as professionals in the dance industry. During her career Nola has worked as assistant choreographer for the “ Miss Teen Lethbridge” pageant, choreographer of “Singing in the Rain”, as well as choreographer for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Celebration in Fort McMurray. Recently Nola has been adjudicating for dance competitions across Canada. Nola is looking forward to becoming certified in junior levels of acrobatics this summer from Acrobatic Arts. Nola has a passion for performance, teaching and technique. She enjoys working with children and helping them to discover themselves through the expression of dance.
