I am twenty years old and I was born in Newfoundland. I moved to Fort McMurray, AB when I was 4 years old! Upon moving there I was on a competitive figure skating team and took dance classes to improve my movement on ice. After my first class I was completely hooked! I was later invited to dance competitively at Generation Dance Studio. With both activities requiring a lot of dedication I had to choose to focus on one of the two.. and I haven’t put a pair of skates on since. I have been training for the past fifteen years in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and contemporary and have received scholarships and awards which allowed me to travel and grow so much as a dancer and a person! After graduation I moved to Vancouver, BC and danced under the direction of Alex & Joanne Pesusich in The Source Dance Company for two years. This company and the training I received allowed me to work with many of North Americas top choreographers. I am also a part of The Breakthrough Movement, a company I travelled to New York City with for a month where I trained heavily and performed around the city. I have five years of dance instructing experience and am very excited to be a part of the UpTown dance family this season!
